Baroque Fulda
After viewing Fulda from the castle tower, we continued on to the Schlossgarten (Residence Gardens)
on the north side. Just to the north of there is the Baroque style Orangery (1725). It was built to grow
citrus fruit, including pineapples, which are also included within the architectural details. In front is
the massive Flora Vase (1728), a classic Baroque example, carved from a single piece of stone.
The Cathedral of St. Salvator (1712) and smaller St. Michael's church (822) were also impressive.
